  • Today's big news is the release of the new version 2.0 of iziBasic (sophisticated BASIC compiler to develop Palm software, running directly on-board of your Palm device).
  • I updated my Bench2 study (a benchmarking study of the different development tools for Palm) for iziBasic. Indeed, programs compiled with iziBasic v2.0 are about 4% faster than those in v1.0.
  • Another follow up of iziBasic's new version, I updated the iBClock freeware, which is itself developed in iziBasic and took the benefit of a few enhancements.
  • Todays main decision: given how slow this website is (and I really apologize for that), I have decided to change of webhosting. Stay tuned...

Updates as of July 24th, 2004 - by aldweb 24/07/2004 @ 01:35

  • I added a new Palm freeware program: it is an original clock that I called iBClock.
  • I also added a link to a website which uses Numerus (Roman numerals calculator) for teaching purposes. It is really nice to read.

Updates as of July 22nd, 2004 - by aldweb 23/07/2004 @ 00:00

  • The updates of today are all Palm development self-centred! We start with a brand new software that I named iziBasic. iziBasic is a sophisticated BASIC compiler to develop Palm software, running directly on-board of your Palm device.
  • LaFac evolves slightly and is upgraded to version 1.1
  • My Bench2 study, a benchmark of the different development tools available for Palm OS, was fully revised and the reference device is now the Palm Tungsten C (it was the Palm Vx before). I am very happy to see that iziBasic and the 4 console compilers of LaFac are very well ranked in this Bench2 study I was a little bit scared of the result... so this was a good surprise!

Updates as of June 5th, 2004 - by aldweb 05/06/2004 @ 23:41

  • The updates of today are fully Palm self-centred! We start with a brand new software that I named LaFac. LaFac is a tool to develop Palm software, running directly on-board of your Palm device, with 4 programming langages: a kind of assembler, a Basic, a Pascal, a C.
  • New upgraded version for Speedy, the reference benchmark software for Palm OS devices. There are now 54 devices referenced in Speedy's database!
  • New version of PgmPP, my bundle of free source code software and units for use with PP, the great on-board Pascal compiler for Palm devices.

Updates as of May 17th, 2004 - by aldweb 17/05/2004 @ 21:00

  • New version of PgmPP, my bundle of free source code software and units for use with PP, the great on-board Pascal compiler for Palm devices.
The main update is an optimized routine for Palm OS devices which accelerates calculations and displaying of CellsPP in an incredible way. You just have to give it a try
  • Updated the aldweb site Stats and Downloads Stats pages.

Updates as of April 10th, 2004 - by aldweb 10/04/2004 @ 23:40

  • I finally took the time to migrate my website to the new version 3.0 of its GuppY CMS engine that was available the 25th of February... just a very long time when you come to know that I am the GuppY project initiator and that I am therefore the very first one to have the final new versions !
  • As a consequence of this new version, I opened new options: the aldweb Site newsletter for which you are invited to subscribe, integrated reading of the news of friends websites.

Updates as of April 6th, 2004 - by aldweb 06/04/2004 @ 23:46

  • New upgraded version for Speedy, the reference benchmark software for Palm OS devices. There are as much as 51 devices referenced in Speedy's database now!
  • Updated the aldweb site Stats and Downloads Stats pages.
  • As the following graph shows it, my website was the subject of 2 intrusion attempts since the beginning of the year (blue curve, 401 Unauthorized) which hopefully did not succeed.

This message is meant for the author of these attacks: "I wish that you feel someday the pleasure of a builder instead of getting so deep in the destruction power!"

  • Today's main news is that a new release of GuppY, the easy webportal which was born on this site, was just put online tonight. Please find all informations about this version 3.0 full of new features on the website dedicated to the GuppY project: http://www.freeguppy.org/

Information - www.freeGuppY.org - by aldweb 22/02/2004 @ 18:42

  • Sunday off for www.freeGuppY.org?
http://www.freeguppy.org/, the website dedicated to the GuppY webportal which was born here, suffered a little bit because of a DNS error I made!
It is solved now and http://www.freeguppy.org/ is progressively back on track around the world.

  • The aldweb Site is now 5 years old, and this since February 11th. 2003 was a tremendous year for the hobby activities that I gather on this aldweb Site. And many people came here, on the average more than 660 visitors each day! Some of you are regular visitors and many others came for the first time... It seems that my website is no longer above the limits of the desert as my initial slogan meant it!
  • The English translation of my Hobbies page (which was the very first page of my website when I put it online back in February 1999!) was highly upgraded by Teresa. I hope that it will be easier for the English readers to understand me. Thank you Teresa
  • The Palm Benchmark page was updated with two new development tools: CASL and LispMe. This page became overtime the number one reference for Palm OS platform development tools and many refer to it now.
  • Last but not least, Speedy, the award winning benchmark tool for Palm OS devices, has been upgraded to a new version.
