active  Topic # 1505  Screen Color

My app requires a black background with red foreground lettering so that it can be used at night without destroying ones sensitive night vision. Is there a way to change the foreground and background colors of the entire screen?

I can boxfill the screen and then use gprint but that covers up any menuitems that I have. I have also tried creating a PP applet which calls WinSetBackColor() but that only changes the screen below the menubar. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello JoeV,

I am not sure I get it well...

So this will be my 5 cents suggestion:

Put some dark image on the screen that would show menu items and other controls in red, without drawing those controls with iziBasic statements.
Then just capture some pen events and, according to the pen position, have the application react accordingly.

Cheers,

Thanks Aldweb. That is a clever idea. I will consider it.
