Hi All

What happens to the preferences you may have stored using SAVEPREF if/when your application is deleted from the Palm device?

I assume they're stored in either 'SavedPreferences' or 'UnsavedPreferences' on the Palm device. If this is the case, does the Palm OS automatically remove them? Or are they maintained so that if you install the application again they will still be there?

If they are maintained, then I suppose any application using these preferences should include an 'uninstall' function which cleans the preferences before being deleted.

Can someone please let me know?

Thanks.

Hello Garfield,

The preferences built with SAVEPREF are removed from the saved and unsaved preferences when the application is deleted using the standard Delete application from Palm OS.
This is compliant to Palm OS guidelines - just like [almost ] everything in iziBasic

To be noted: some more sophisticated launchers offer options to remove or not databases and preferences together with the application.

Cheers,
aldweb
