active  Topic # 1321  Need help with Bird

I guess I don't get it.

I thought Bird was basically a file which contained the resources used by an iziBasic program... such as icons, external routines, graphics or whatever...

I installed Bird and then opened it. Then I scrolled down until I found iBChristmas... actually Bird shows 3 files on my TX...
1 - iBChristmas (What is this?)
2 - iBChristmas.ibas (iziBasic Code - right?)
3 - iBChristmas.rsrc (the Bird Resource File - right?)

I scrolled down until iBchristmas.rsrc was highlighted... and thought I would see the contents of the resource file... maybe the graphic of the tree... the sound file... whatever...

But, nope, I don't see the contents.

Tapping the "Menu" button brings up Options but nothing that would show me the contents of the rsrc file.

I see an "Apply" button on the screen but have no idea what it doses... so I won't click it until I know more...

I see that the file has 11 records... but how do I see the records?

Rom and Ram are checked... what does that mean?

Backup is checked too... what does that mean?

I glanced at the section in the manual about adding an Icon... but didn't study it... hopefully you guys will help me out hear as I need to get past this so I can get some programming done :)

Thanks for any help understanding more about Bird.

Gee KTimaster,
Where would we be without you :)

1 - What does the "Aply" button do?

2 - Does the "Del" button delete the resource from the Bird file?

3 - I clicked around and ended up looking at a BitMap Editor... is that a part of Bird or is it a seperate program on the TX? (It looks fun to play with... if it is a stand-alone program)

thanks for the help.

I Dont know... Mabey Dead, Mabey...

1 - What does the "Aply" button do?
Aply Saves The changes
2 - Does the "Del" button delete the resource from the Bird file?
Yes
3 - I clicked around and ended up looking at a BitMap Editor... is that a part of Bird or is it a seperate program on the TX? (It looks fun to play with... if it is a stand-alone program)
It is a part of BIRD. You use that to alter Bitmaps and icons to make your own Custom graphics to use in Izibasic

thanks for the help.
No Problem

There is no trouble to help each others about Bird here, but its real official forum is on PPcompiler's web site... so I would suggest to ask for clarifications there.

Cheers

Thanks again KTimaster and Aldweb.

I'll go over and join the Bird forum as you suggest.
