My Trio 650 always Reset by itself |

During my experience of using izibasic, several time my trio 650 reset by itself. But not in other application. Especially when I click Editor or sometimes when I click Run. I use izi basic 5.2 (not a demo version). I also use piaf as an editor. The reset happen not because of the source code because sometimes I just try a print statement and its goes down also.
Look like this izibasic is not stable compare to the demo version. I wonder why.

Hello zolkefli,
Indeed, this is bad And this is very strange to me
I tested iziBasic in the Treo 650 simulator, and it ran fine. I have feedback from people using a T5 (quite similar OS implementation) whith no such feedback. And I know that a few people bought iziBasic having a Treo 650 as their device, and no one complained before you.
Now, there must be something weird. And we have to figure it out. 1. Could you uninstall iziBasic 2. Then, reinstall it by HotSync 3. Then, let me know...
Cheers,
@+ aldweb |

Hi Aldweb and Zolkefli,
I recently installed the licensed version of iziBasic v6.0 on my Treo 650, and have the same kind of problems. When I hit the Editor button, the Treo will sometimes spontaneously reset. I now avoid to use the editor button. I completely leave iziBasic by going to the program launcher, and then launch Memo to edit my program file. Since then the problem didn't occur.
I also tried to use PIAF, both the regular and the POSE version (although I don't know the difference between the two). Launching PIAF will cause a soft reset of my Treo almost every time. That's a pity, because I quite like the functionality!
Do you have any recommendation for another editor that integrates with iziBasic? Memo is a bit primitive (no small font, no color coding, having to count the number of lines in case of a compilation error, 4K limitation)
Best regards,
Rob |

Hello Rob,
Well, I do not own a Treo 650 myself so I will have a hard time to understand this (one more... thank you Palm?) compatibility issue on this Palm OS which used to be so stable, robust and highly compatible whatever the device... Furthermore, all my tests in the Treo 650 simulator were OK
The compatibility issue could also be with some hack or other software getting deep into Palm OS internals...
Sorry guys, I don't have any single clue to understand what you suffer from
Cheers, aldweb

Both iziBasic and PIAF_POSE run fine on my Treo 650. BTW, PIAF_POSE is compiled specifically for the Treo.
For me, PIAF occaisionally acts up, which is fixed by either exiting and reentering PIAF or by an intentional soft reset.
It would help Aldweb if you could give him the the information from your error log -After your Palm resets, go into the phone app, enter #*377 and press Dial.
This will tell you which app caused the crash and why. I've found it's not always the app I thought it was. |

Wow, that sounds like a very useful feature of the Treo.
