Good day again...

I came back and will probably buy iziBasic. I downloaded PIAF and the coloured text makes the program stand right out. It is great. The trouble is, iziBasic doesn't see anything I have saved with PIAF! Do the two only work together when izi is registered?

Pete,

To be recognized by iziBasic as a valid source code, the file name should be with a ".ibas" extension.
So, make sure in PIAF that you save your file with something like "MyPgm.ibas".
Then, "MyPgm" should appear in iziBasic.

Cheers,

d'oh!

I just assumed that a PIAF file could be read automatically in izi! I did as you said and all is swell again!

PIAF writes DOC formated files, no matter the compiler. And most DOC files are not source codes, they can be any kind of text to be read with a DOC reader.

By default, unless the ".ibas" extension is found, PIAF will try to launch the PP compiler (which can only be accessed from PIAF). It will launch iziBasic otherwise.

As well, not all DOC files are iziBasic source codes. I could have asked iziBasic to scan all DOC files and search for the first line ('MyPgm.ibas), but this would be time consuming if a device is filled with DOC files (this is my case!). So, this is why iziBasic asks for this ".ibas" extension.

Cheers

Like I said at the top - I'll probably buy this... and I did.

Now to get down to business and write up some software! With PIAF, it'll be that much easier. :)
