There seems to be a problem with the MENU command. I created a new menu resource in BIRD with ID 101. It defines ID 60 for menuitem 1, and ID 69 for menuitem 2. Then I tried the following code:
'solomenus.ibas
{CreatorID "mCo3"}
{resourcefile "menu-2"}
Begin
menu 101
repeat
a=doevents
if a=1001 then
n=menuitem

case 60
'clear
x=messagebox("clear",1)
case 69

If I open the menu with the silkscreen button the menus works fine, but if I open the menu touching the TITLE of application, then the menu opens but cannot be closed, no menuitem can be selected and a small white point appears around coordinate 3,3.
Can someone replicate this?

There was a bug in version 4.0. I just posted today version 4.1 which you should have received that solves this bug.

And, indeed, if I had read carefully, I would have answered that this appears to be a complete other bug!
Could you remind me your device model?
As you can imagine, I tested it in my Tungsten C since it is my development device, in POSE with various old ROMs (from 3.0 to 4.1) and in PalmSimulator 5.
But, some devices or OS models react differently on very sharp API calls... this was the case for the penDownEvent not so long ago!
So, better know and then try to figure out where to do a chirurgical operation on iziBasic's source code

Well, I tested it on:
* Zire 31 (PalmOS 5.2.8)
* Tungsten T (PalmOS 5.0)
* PalmOS Simulator 5.1.0.28
* m515 (PalmOS 4.1)
* AlphaSmart Dana Wireless (PalmOS 4.1.2)
On this last one two models, the application cannot open the menu, and it reports a:
Fatal Alert
MemoryMgr.c, Line:4450
NilPtr
[Reset]

And I see it on
* Tungsten T5 (5.4.5)
* Tungsten T3 (5.2.1)
I've only actually compiled it on the T5 however then beamed it to the other device. |

No crash in Palm Simulator 5 but, indeed, not what is expected.
And I am very sure it did work well in the past... so I'll have to reverse engineer my own stuff!

Aldweb, do you remember the screenshoot of KalcObs ... where the menu which is open from the application title freeze with a grey rect.
In 4.0 and 4.1, i ve exactly the same things... i'm sorry i can t test actually on simulator too ... while palmsource make a macos compliant simulator. ...

Good news, I have solved this bug. 
Just a question of removing some unecessary code from iziBasic! 
I will release an upgrade (version 4.2) within a few days. Stay tuned my friends.
