Latest version programs all crash |

I just downloaded isiBasic yesterday. This is the latest version available. All programs created with iziBasic crash my Palm Zire71. This is from the memo being compiled, then run on the Palm.
Any idea of why this happens? The ones that don't crash can't be compiled with the free version. |

Hello Pete,
Well, this is a bad discovery of iziBasic for you! Thanks for reporting here.
So, the trouble could either come from some specificic stuff related to the Zire 71 device or from some software installed on your device.
I have an idea of a hypothesis for the origin of the trouble, so I will send you by e-mail a slightly modified version of iziBasic to test.

I just installed the update and it is worse. It crashes just the same and the text is larger, but cut in half. I have a gif but there's nowhere to up it in this message. It is self explanatory anyway.
Sorry to hear about your PDA! I keep mine in a leather/neoprene BodyGlove case. I drop it too often! So far, no problems with the two I have owned for the past 4 years. |

Pete,
It was expected that the text would be larger in the version I sent you. So, badly, I have to eliminate my random hypothesis of a trouble with custom fonts.
Could you send me the gif by e-mail?
Because, what is self explanatory for you gives me no clue of where the problem occurs... so no way to solve it!

I sent you an e-mail, but it was returned as you were over quota!
So here it is here...
I've fiddled around a bit more.
The compiled app starts to run. The 'About' window appears along with the title bar of the app. When the About window disappears, nothing else happens. I could only do a couple programs as I can't compile the others.
I didn't install the pre-compiled apps. Maybe I try that and see if those will work. Tomorrow as I am at work once again.

Thanks for these explanations you added above. So, the applications crash, not when being launched, but later on. Probably when exiting?
The more information you succeed to give me, the closer I will be able to get from the source code which leads to these crashes, the easier it will be for me to find the reason, the faster I will be able to fix the source code...

I read that note about the spamming - sorry to hear about that! Don't they say things happen in three's? 1. broken palm. 2. spammed. 3. ? Uh-oh!
I loaded up the Christmas and Address Book apps and they worked a-ok. The Bench1 and Bench2 pre-compiled apps crashed. Just like the ones I built. So it is a bug in the listing of the program perhaps.
I just deleted those and will check out iziBasic without them now.

I don't believe that it is a mistake in the source code.
I think that it comes from a specific thing happening with console applications and your device, in iziBasic's virtual machine. Now, what it is... I still don't know!
