Filled-In Triangles |

Hi
I want to draw filled-in triangles and I can't work out how to do it.
I can obviously draw outlined triangles using three LINETO statements, but how do you get a filled-in triangle?
I'm sure once you tell me I'll kick myself, but right now I'm at a loss.
Thanks.

But it already does, somehow, dear Ktimaster, and, one more time, thanks to the PP applets! The CPDBdemo sample program provided in the iziBasic package does nothing else but access the CPDB.net external library.
Cheers, aldweb

Wah, that lets you have plenty of hours in the plane to code some stuff in your device... Apart from kidding, have fun in Hawaii

The library could also be a source file that is included with the compiling directive {INCLUDE "iB_Lib_Graphics.ibas"}. This would defeat the need for the extra library prc to be installed.
Would this be the best form or would a PP applet and external library compiled in PP be better? Thoughts and ideas welcome...
@ktlmaster...
Enjoy the trip! |

An external library is some extra ".PRC" file that needs to be installed in addition to the calling application. It is the equivalent of the ugly ".DLL" files in a Window$ PC. On Palm, the MathLib is the most famous external library used by many applications, not by iziBasic which uses the native PP Math internal library written by Pierre.
Personally, I chose to write my PC applications in Delphi and not in Visual Basic, because I hate to have to install 3rd party files in addition to the main application. And so do I believe it should also be in the Palm devices.
So my position clearly is: use internal libraries unless external libraries are really required or the only ones available for a given need.
Then, what kind of internal library? An iziBasic one (with the INCLUDE compiling directive) or a PP applet one? Well, it doesn't really matter to me, everything will be stored in a single ".PRC" and that is what is important. The choice between the 2 options will be a question of: 1. programming knowledge; if you don't want to dig into PP, with its power but also with quite of a learning curve, then why don't you just content yourself with iziBasic... 2. speed; a PP applet will for sure run faster than an iziBasic pseudo-code, not to talk about the high speed PP ARMlets...
Then, if speed is not an issue, if you want to develop quickly and natively, stick to iziBasic, otherwise consider the great power of PP, but always try to consider internal library first, please do it for me
Cheers, aldweb
@Ktimaster and bh77a: why don't we organize a first iziBasic User Group meeting there where Ktimaster will go pretty soon?

@ Aldweb,
I am going to do the writing in iziBasic for start and then might migrate it to PP. So far it is off to a good start... subroutines for hollow/filled circles and hollow/filled ellipses ;) were added today while my wife was in the dressing room trying on clothing... Hollow and filled triangles, both random, equilateral, etc will be added this week along with hexagons.
@ Ktlmaster and Aldweb,
That meeting sounds like a great one... I would also love to see France while at it :)
Regards, bh77a |
