active  Topic # 1573  TEXTFIELD displayed by INPUT c|v

Hi,
Other than by tapping on it, how can one assign focus to the TEXTFIELD supplied by the statement: INPUT c|v ? In other words what number should be supplied to the SETFOCUS statement for this purpose?
Thanks,
Roy

Hello Roy,

The parameter number to give to SETFOCUS is the ID of the TEXTFIELD.

Cheers,

Hellow aldweb,

When you use INPUT [c|t,] c|v without the c|t parameter it supplies a TEXTFIELD without disclosing it's ID. If you activate it by tapping on it, and then using GETFOCUS, it returns an ID that looks like a zero, but this is unusable since SETFOCUS #0 according to the NOTE for SETFOCUS unsets the FOCUS.
Puzzled,
Roy

Hello Roy,

Sorry, my answer was too fast, I had not got the point that you wanted to get the focus of an INPUT statement.

INPUT does not supply a TEXTFIELD, it works with tracking key presses and direct displaying of text on the screen.
So, there is no way that you can set the focus to it. You then have to find another way to present things on your form...

Cheers,
aldweb
