active  Topic # 1375  Sharp memory cards / specifications / 1360

Hi,

Would anyone have datasheets or alike for the sharp memory cards? I'm playing with the idea of building one.

Also if I was to design some PCBs and build these would there be a market for them?

Tempted to just do the E500 256Kb cards as it seems documented that they work with my 1360?

Here's what I've done so far with hacking 4Mb into an Atari ST with a 72pin SIMM so basic skills of memory interfacing there; http://www.retro.dial.pipex.com/

The main thing I need is the pin outs of the memory card/sharp.

Thanks kindly,

techie_alison

Some people must have. I remember owning one of those 256 KB cards, some kind of home made, indeed designed for the E500 and running fine in my PC-1360 (but only the first 32KB are addressed if I remember well). I will try to find back the story of this memory card.

Also if I was to design some PCBs and build these would there be a market for them?

I am pretty sure that you would not make a living of it! Simon also offered some great electronic enhancements for the PC-1360 (like a must-have 2KB soldered RAM add-on, etc...) and I am not sure he sold more than a few units...

Cheers,

Hello!

Nice to see some activity at the sharp pocket forums! I bought a 256k memory
card at http://www.cynox.de/ and it
worked well on my PC-1360 (Only the
first 32k). If put into a PC-1280 and
used as RAM disk there is more memory
useable, I think 96k.

regards, Edgar

Hello Edgar,

It's also nice to see you come back here

Indeed my own 256k card must come from this place too, becayse it is just looking the same as from the picture on the web site.

Cheers,
