active  Topic # 918  Assembler for Sharp Pocket Computers

Hello all!

There is a new version (4.0) of the ASxxxx Cross Assemblers written from Alan R. Baldwin,
Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. They support many microprocessors and operating system platforms.
I have made a port for the SC61860 (CPU of many Sharp pocket computers). The as61860 assembler is now
integrated into the download bundle from Alan R. Baldwin and can be downloaded at

http://shop-pdp.kent.edu/ashtml/asxxxx.htm

AFAIK this is the one and only multi- plattform cross assembler for the SC61860 which has a linker
and supports programming in multiple modules.

regards,

Edgar

Thank you Edgar for this information.
I know that you are very much in favor of ASxxxx, and you are right. This is really a great tool.

For those of you who would not like ASxxxx (this might happen), you can also access to 2 other macro-assembler tools for the SC61860 (lucky you, such a choice for such old devices):
1. my own PockASM (look in Projects, VI.4.)
2. PocketASM from my friend Simon (which uses the same macro-assembler engine as PockASM, but provides better editor functions)
These are just 2 hobby tools, don't ask too much enhancements for them

Greetz,

There is also another assembler for Sharp pocket on my own web site.
I wrote it many year ago for Amiga, but it runs now also on UNIX like system.
Have a look on my own web site
